Dr. Lauren Bowersox, DDS, MICOI | Atlanta West Dentistry

Dr. Bowersox grew up in the Atlanta area and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in both biology and psychology. Following her undergraduate degree, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University at the Medical College of Virginia. During her dental training, she was a teaching assistant in the department of general dentistry, receiving accolades in clinical excellence and patient management.

After dental school, Dr. Bowersox completed a two-year general practice residency at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, GA, a hospital-based advanced training program. She became proficient in dental implant placement, IV conscious sedation, oral surgery, and complex case treatment.

During the second year of her residency, Dr. Bowersox filled the role of chief resident, allowing her to take on more advanced cases and see larger cases through to completion. She was also an instructor in the residency program’s maxi course, giving her the opportunity to teach general dentists the hands-on skills to place implants in their own private practices. Throughout her training and dental practice experience, she has placed and restored approximately 1,000 dental implants.
